User groups
Ruma Digital-System (Pro) is a modular designed software with two modules directed to the following user groups:
1) Patients which are in qualified treatment due to abuse of psychotropic substances and whose treatment require the controlled delivery of urine samples. Diagnostic spectrum F10-F19 mental and behavioral disorders caused by psychotropic substances according to ICD-10
2) Medical professionals:
a. Physicians that offer a qualified treatment of mental and behavioral disorders caused by psychotropic substances and whose therapy plans include, if necessary, urine controls for the monitoring of continued motivation and potential for rehabilitation and freedom of drugs, respectively.
b. Staff members of practices of user group 2.a. who are entrusted by them with the realization of the administrative functions of Ruma Digital-System (Pro).
User profiles
The Ruma Digital-System (Pro) application is used by persons with specific mental, physical, and demographic features as well as specific features.
(1) Persons with addiction disorders in accordance with ICD 10 F10 - F19
Patients using Ruma Digital-System are deemed sufficiently adherent to therapy by their attending physicians to perform the urine tests to be conducted within the scope of their treatment plan by way of documented urine marking subject to their own responsibility and without direct doctor-patient contact.
Persons from this user group must have the motor skills and mental capacities to
- operate and check the basic functions of a smartphone (e.g., battery status, Wi-Fi connection),
- follow the Ruma Digital-System instructions,
- visually perceive the safety features applied to the urine marking substance and scan them with the app,
- overcome physical safety features of the urine marking substance.
Special technical qualification is not required. Ruma Digital-System (Pro) can be used within the scope of treatment of mental and behavioural disorders due to psychotropic substances, addictions in accordance with ICD-10 code F10 - F19, provided that abstinence monitoring within the scope of the required therapy-supporting relapse management is performed by examination of urine samples.
(2.a.) Physicians qualified to provide therapy for addiction disorders in accordance with ICD 10 F10 -F19
Physicians who use Ruma Digital-System Pro perform urine tests within the scope of qualified therapy.
Persons in this user group must have the motor skills and mental capacities to
- operate and review the basic functions of a smartphone and/or tablet (Wi-Fi connection),
- visually perceive and assess the returned information.
No special technical qualification is required.
(2.b.) Employees of physicians qualified to provide therapy for addiction disorders in accordance with ICD 10 F10 -F19
Employees of user group 2.b. may be charged with using Ruma Digital-System Pro by physicians of user group 2.a. in order to record and assign urine marking substances.
Persons in this user group must have the motor skills and mental capacities to
- operate and review the basic functions of a smartphone and/or tablet (Wi-Fi connection)
- visually perceive the safety features applied to the urine marking substance and scan them with the app.
No special technical qualification is required.
Duration of use
Ruma Digital-System Pro is installed on a smartphone and/or tablet by the physician for permanent use. It may be used multiple times a day if necessary. The operating time depends on availability of compatible devices on the physician’s side.
Ruma Digital-System is installed on a personal smartphone by the patient for permanent use. Further use takes place as necessary based on the chosen therapy form. It may be used multiple times a day if necessary. The operating time depends on availability of mobile devices on the patient’s side.
As a matter of course, software is not subject to any deterioration processes. Therefore, a specific service life is not applicable to Ruma Digital-System (Pro).
Since there is no direct contact between the physician and patient, a cumulative usage time across the entire treatment period is not applicable.
