Ruma® Digital-System (Pro)

Ruma Digital-System (Pro) enables urine sample collection in addiction therapy to be supported and documented independent of location.

The treating physician can request a urine sample independently of a visit to the medical practice. The patient is notified via the app and guided through the required process. Intake of the assigned Marker substance is documented by video and can subsequently be reviewed by the treating physician.

For this part of the urine testing process, the patient and physician therefore do not need to be in the same place or participate at the same time.

For patients, this means better compatibility with work and everyday life, greater self-determination, and protection of their personal privacy during urine collection. For the medical practice, it reduces the organizational burden and time required. Practice staff are relieved of tasks associated with urine collection, giving them more time for their primary responsibilities.

Regular urine testing can therefore be carried out with less disruption to the patient's everyday life.

Ruma Digital-System (Pro) supports the workflow from requesting a urine sample through to the physician’s review of the documented Marker intake. To achieve this, the patient module Ruma Digital-System and the healthcare professional module Ruma Digital-System Pro work together as one integrated system.

Using Ruma Digital-System Pro, the medical practice manages the information required for the workflow, assigns Markers, and can request urine sample collection at a time of its choosing. The patient receives the request on their smartphone. Ruma Digital-System guides them through the required process, verifies that the Marker presented corresponds to the assigned Marker, and documents its intake by video.

The documentation is securely transmitted and subsequently made available to the treating physician for review. Medical evaluation remains entirely in the hands of the physician.

Ruma Digital-System (Pro) does not require integration into the medical practice’s local IT infrastructure. The two modules and the associated backend services communicate via a standard internet connection.

Ruma Digital-System (Pro) protects the documentation generated within the system by encrypting it at the point of creation. It remains protected during transmission and storage, while relevant activities are recorded in a traceable system log.

Changes and administrative activities are recorded in the system log. Selected entries are additionally protected by an independent external integrity mechanism. This makes subsequent changes to the recorded information detectable.

Ruma Digital-System (Pro) uses blockchain technology for this additional integrity verification. The blockchain is not used to store patient or video data, but provides an additional verification layer for selected logged information.
